Hello,

I am pleased to announce that Divers Central has a new home at 251 Clay Drive, Cadillac, Michigan.  This summer has been very exciting here in the dive shop.  Not only have we moved, but we are in the middle of establishing Northern Michigan’s newest dive club, and what an adventure!

We are planning several new and exciting dive events this year, so feel free to check out our calendar posted on Divers Centrals web site. Starting on Friday, February 3rd, will be our first annual Divers Dinner; a potluck for all to enjoy.  This will be the dinner where we officially name the new dive club so please come on in to the new location with your suggestions and enjoy an evening with us.

We are also putting a few twists this year on week night dives.  Let me introduce Birthday dives. On one weeknight dive in June we will celebrate all birthdays occurring in January, February, March, and April. In August we will celebrate May, June, July, and August birthdays. On one dive in September we will celebrate September, October, November, and December birthdays with a birthday cake at the end of the dive. Honestly, what could be better than getting to dive and eat your birthday cake too?

In planning the weeknight dives this year we wish to recognize you, our avid divers. All you have to do is come in to the shop and log your dives on a log sheet we will have posted in the dive shop.  At the end of the month the person with the most dives will be announced on the last week night dive as the diver of the month.  That lucky divers name will be posted for all to see in the store, and will also get to pick the next week night dive site location.  If you are new to diving or have been busy continuing your education, all training dives count. Just don’t forget to log them in the store as well as in your dive log. 

We are in the process of planning some weekend dive destinations this year, and would also like to introduce our new specially designed dive trips to fit in with todays economy and hectic lifestyles.  We call them “Daycations,” because they are a one day get away. We will meet at the shop early in the morning and drive no less than one and a half hours away, but no farther than three hours away.  We will do one dive and during the surface interval have a shore-side, boat-deck lunch, then do a second dive.  On the ride home we will stop for dinner or entertainment, arriving back at the shop ready for bed but very happy.  For those continuing their education or those just getting certified, Daycations are a great opportunity for certification dives. Whether you are an advanced diver or just blowing your first bubbles, check out our calendar. We have something planned for all divers.

Feel like taking a sunny vacation this year?  Head on down to Cozumel, Mexico and dive off the “Cozumel Bubbles.” This boat is a real gem!  It is set up to allow a party of eight divers on board, and will meet all your diving requirements.  So if you wish to do a deep dive, night, wall, drift, or just an easy exploration dive, or feel like doing some continuing education while you’re there then get ahold of us at divers@netonecom.net. We will be able to assist you in planning your dream dive vacation. 

This upcoming year is already proving to be an exciting time to be a diver. There has been a tech explosion in gear this year; changes have been occurring almost weekly throughout the dive community that are unheard of in the past.  What better way to keep up during the winter months than to come down to the new shop and check it out. See what new and exciting things are headed our way, and as always we will anticipate your diving needs for the upcoming season.
